Plainsman Event & Train Up
May 17th & 18th

On the 17th of May, members of the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry converged on the Pittman Valley for the 2nd annual Plainsman Event. Led by our nationally famous "Captain Low-life", we spent an perfect day filling the air with gunsmoke.
A special mention should also go to a young shooter that really showed his worth. Young William Locke may be Chad's younger brother, but he is one heck of a shot and has the making of a good trooper. Way to go William!

On Sunday the 18th of May, the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry slept in, had a great breakfast, then took to the training field in preperation for this year's event's. Of coarse the initial preplanning for Gettysburg was addressed, as was two other events that may be of interest to the unit. The majority of the training included some dismounted drill and some riding. Mounted and dismounted saber practice concluded the afternoon.
After drill, the unit headed to the Pittman homestead to help finish off the some of the leftovers from the excellent Saturdaynight feast.

A special thanks should of coarse go to Brian and Jean, for hosting such a great weekend.
Also thanks to Mother Pittman for not only the treats on Saturday, but also for everything that she does to help take care of us all. Thanks again Mom!

I would also like to mention that I am working on the simplified drill book. And hope to have a rough-draft in the next week or so.

Also, for anyone that is interested, the VA reenactment is next week on May 30th, 31st and the 1st of June. So far Myself, Chems and possibly Steve are showing up. Rich will probably make it by Saturdaynight. So if you are interested drop me a line and we'll take care of you.
